Additional Information
Why We Recommend This
Yellow sweet clover grows rapidly and is one of the most prolific biomass producers of all legumes. When sweet clover decomposes, it releases allelopathic chemicals that suppress weeds. In addition to fixing N, yellow sweet clover scavenges P, K and other nutrients to replenish poor soils.
Things to Watch Out For
Yellow sweet clover is at risk for Coumarin which can harm or kill cattle who graze spoiled or moldy forage. Some seeds are hard and will not germinate for 20 years.
