Additional Information
Why We Recommend This
Spring peas have rapid growth and fix N quickly, which they provide to the next crop when they rapidly decompose. They are a strong smother crop and are frost hardy. Spring Peas will not become weedy and can be grazed for high quality, protein dense forage.
Things to Watch Out For
Spring peas do better when planted with a companion crop to encourage upward growth. Regrowth after grazing or mowing is poor and the shallow root system makes them susceptible to drought.
