Additional Information
Why We Recommend This
Mungbeans are a summer-seeded, short-season legume that provide high nutirtion as forage, are reliable, and easy to grow. They can mature in less than 60 days and, as such, are a good candidates for planting later in the season when growing time is limited. Mungbeans are good source of nitrogen and should be considered as a companion crop with sunflowers.
Things to Watch Out For
Mungbeans do not grow very tall, are not good viners or climbers, and may be outcompeted in mixes. They are not tolerant to wet, poorly drained soils.
