Additional Information

Why We Recommend This

Lablab can outproduce Cowpea in terms of biomass, especially in drought conditions. Once established, it can outcompete weeds and, like other legumes, it fixes N that is available to the following crop. Lablab forage is palatable and full of protein and vitamins.

 Things to Watch Out For

Lablab has slow initial growth and cannot be heavily grazed. Lablab is susceptible to root-knot nematodes and will not perform well in poorly-drained soils.
