Why We Recommend This
Brown top millet is a fast growing option for quality forage. Brown top can aid in erosion prevention and may suppress root-knot nematodes. Brown top millet is extremely drought tolerant, inexpensive, and has the ability to reseed and regrow year on year.
Things to Watch Out For
Brown top millet does not get very tall and produces produces less biomass than other warm season grasses. Because of its high reseeding potential, brown top may become a weed concern if left unchecked. Brown top millet will not tolerate waterlogged, poorly drained, or continuously cool soils.
